About School

The International School of Hyderabad (ISH) was founded in 1981 under the trusteeship of the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT). ISH is a warm and welcoming international community. It is an English medium, co-educational day school that provides education for children between the ages of 4 to 18 years old. ISH was the first school in India to receive international accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS). ISH is also the first school in Telangana (former Andhra Pradesh) to be authorized to offer the IB diploma.

Experiential Learning : 

  • Tournaments and educational trips are organized at regular intervals throughout the year
  • Annual day : with music, props, acting, choreography, and costumes.
  • ISH Student Council (STUCO) - operates in the secondary school. The Student Council consists of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Class representative.
  • There are regular performing groups (music) such as Secondary Choir, the vocal studio ‘La Voce’, a string quartet, and two bands – ‘Sansara’ and ‘Algorithm’, who perform at various national, international tournaments and intra-school events

  • Pre-primary to grade V : American curriculum
  • Grades VI to VIII : The Common Ground Curriculum (CGC)  Subjects : Math, Science, Humanities, English, PE, and Languages (French/Spanish). Each student also takes part in a vibrant Music and Visual Art program
  • Grades IX and X :  Cambridge IGCSE
  • Grades XI and XII : IB-DP

Languages : Spanish and French are offered from Grade 9 to Grade 12, while Spanish is also taught in Grades 3 to 5. Grades 1 and 2 take a Host Culture subject, which will include Hindi language learning.
