About School

Innisfree House School is a co-educational, English medium school offers classes from nursery to grade 10. Established in 1985 by Mrs. S. Bolar, a National Award-winning educator with decades of teaching experience, IHS is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) as well as Cambridge Assessment International Examinations (CAIE). About Currriculum :

From preschool to Class 10, we offer the curriculum prescribed by the Indian Council for Secondary Education (ICSE). From Class 6 onwards, students may opt for the the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum.

For Pre-Primary, best practices are integrated from the Montessori methodology into our preschool curriculum to ensure joyful and hands-on learning. IHS believes in skills-based education, empowering students with the tools they need to learn effectively. We hold that knowing how to learn is just as important as learning itself. 

English being primary medium of learning, languages offered are Hindi, Kannada and Sanskrit.

Assessment and Reporting:

IHS follows a policy of continuous assessment to evaluate learning outcomes. Our inclusive assessment pattern takes into consideration the needs of students with different learning styles. In addition to conducting regular academic evaluations, we observe and monitor the physical, social and emotional development of all students from preschool through Class 10 to ensure all-round growth.To enable early detection of problem areas and conduct swift intervention, we implement ASSET (a diagnostic tool that is used to assess the level of understanding in subjects like English, Science and Math) from Classes 3-8.

  • Communication skills enable students to share their thoughts and ideas in a clear and succinct manner
  • Collaboration enables them to work together towards a common goal, identifying individual strengths and applying them towards achieving desired outcomes
  • Critical thinking skills give students the ability to absorb, analyze, sift, and apply information
  • Creativity encourages students to think laterally finding innovative ways to solve real-life problems
Classrooms:
  • Maximum in-class Teacher Student ratio - 1:28. Staff Student ratio - 1:12.
  • Spacious, well-lit and -ventilated classrooms. Every classroom from Class 1 to 10 is tech-enabled with a plasma SmartScreen featuring with advanced audio/visual learning capabilities, networking, and assistive learning and response technology.
  • Supported Learning: ensures that every student makes progress, regardless of their ability or background.

Admission

Age criteria for pre-nursery: 2 years and 10 months as of May 31st.

Admission Process:

  • Registration online or offline
  • Interaction with the Principal for pre-primary and assessment of your child’s knowledge of English, Hindi and Math for Primary, Middle and High School (Class 1 -10)
  • Should we feel that our school is a good fit for your child, we will make an offer of admission. Once all formalities, including payment of fees, has been made, your child’s admission is confirmed.
