Deccan International School is a co-educational school, offers classes from nursery to grade 12, affiliated to CAIE (IGCSE, A/AS Level) and CISCE (ICSE, ISC). The 3 year Early Years program at Deccan International School employs an activity based combination of Montessori and Kindergarten methods. At DIS, a combination of Cambridge Secondary 1 (CS1) and the Indian National Curriculum is offered to Grade 7 and Grade 8 students. Before entering Grade 9, they will be able to choose either the ICSE or the Cambridge IGCSE stream. The Senior School for Grade 11 & Grade 12 offers offers students a choice of the ISC curriculum (CISCE, New Delhi) and the AS and A Levels of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE, UK).
At Deccan International School, we offer a dynamic curriculum that is forward-looking, creative and relevant; that we believe will equip our students with the essential skills and knowledge to flourish in a global community.
- Assessment and Reporting:

Pre-Primary and Std. 1 – Std. IV do not write exams. Ongoing assessments occur in an informal manner throughout the year in the form of various quizzes. Std. V – Std. IX / IG: 3 Unit Tests and 2 Exams (1st Term Exam and the Annual Exam). Std. X onwards (ICSE/IGCSE/AS & A Levels): 4 Exams before they sit for the Board Exams- (1st Term Exam, 2nd Term Exam and 2 Pre-Board Exams).

We believe that each child is an individual with an inborn drive to learn. In addition, they have very individual styles in which they best learn. We work hard to identify and nurture individual learning styles and apply a creative combination of the most appropriate methods in order to engage every student in the classroom. Our most important job as educators is to always keep this in sight as we teach our children ‘how to learn’ and cultivate in them a continuing enthusiasm for inquiry.

Every classroom from Grade 1 onwards is equipped with the Educomp SmartClass for effective audio-visual learning while an Audio-Visual Room is available for larger groups.

- A meeting with the director and the head of the institution will be scheduled at the time of the student’s admission to Deccan International School.
The child should have completed 2 years and 10 months as on 1st June, to qualify for admission to Nursery (K1), the entry level at Deccan International School.
